Coating Systems (Alcohol Based)

Under the Morse brand name, we have been successfully manufacturing shellac based coating systems for over 10 years. Available in both alcohol and aqueous vehicles for tablet & candy applications, this is the only resin that is deemed a “natural” edible film former.

Our shellac based coating systems provide the following value added properties to your tablet:

Cellulose Coating Solution

A cellulosics based coating system with an alcohol matrix for clear coating requirements. Premixed and ready to disperse, our Cellulose Coating Solution is an excellent film former for tablet coating or used as a granulating agent for formulas which cannot tolerate water and clarity is required.

Coating Systems (Water Based)

Alpha Seal (Aqueous Glaze)

An excellent shellac based film former in an aqueous system. With the absence of alcohol, this allows for use in spray coaters for easy application and increased production. Recommended for tablet coating, enteric coating formulations as well as granulations where water can be tolerated.

Cellulose Coating Solution AS

A cellulosics based coating system in powder form that is readily dispersible in cold water making it suitable for spray coating applications where clear coating is required. Excellent film forming properties and tensile strength are achieved at low usage levels.

This water based product eliminates the worry of volatile organic compounds (VOC) associated with alcohol based systems.

Cellulose Coating Solution GS

This cellulosics based coating system in powder form is formulated specifically for granulating applications providing excellent binding properties. Readily dispersible in cold water making it suitable for most granulating applications where increasing bulk density and flowability is required.

As with the Cellulose Coating AS, this water based formulation eliminates the worry of volatile organic compounds (VOC).
